Why Donate?

Do you remember learning to read? More than likely, you don't. Can you imagine someone going through life not being able to read and not being able to help his or her child learn to read? To date, nearly 120,000 people in Franklin County have low literacy levels (American Community Development Survey, 2006-2008).

Columbus Literacy Council strives to improve the lives of these individuals by teaching literacy skills; however, ninety-five percent of our students are at or below the poverty level and are not able to pay for services.

We offer our services to them free-of-charge to give them an opportunity to learn the skills they need to become successful, and we need your help to continue this life-changing service. If you support our mission, please consider sending us a check (Attn: Cori MacFarland) or sending a monetary donation over the internet on our
Donate Now page. For non-monetary contribution options, visit the Other Ways to Give page.
